La Merce Festival
Outside

Every year at the end of September Barcelona holds it's largest street party, the Barcelona La Merce Festival. Barcelona La Merce lasts for around 3 days and is a festival held in honour of Mare de Deu de la Merce, the Patron Saint of Barcelona. The festival, which officially first took place in 1902, bids goodbye to the summer with a bang and welcomes in the cooler months of autumn. This year the festival will be held from 22nd - 25th September and will include some 500 different activities, and more than 3000 performers. These performers will be swarming all over the city, occupying all the main squares and most of the large streets, such as Psg de Gracia. In short it is going to be virtually impossible for you to miss out..and why would you want to with so much fun on offer.

The Más i Más Festival
Lots of music

Más i Más presents the 4th edition of its namesake festival, this time staging more than 100 performances from July through to September. The festival is a mixed bag of great tricks, serving up everything from jazz, blues and flamenco to hip hop and techno. In addition to music, the festival presents its first ever theatrical production during this edition, a stage version of Fellini's cinematic masterpiece La Strada. The festival aims to bring audiences the freshest offerings in contemporary culture and awaken curiosity for new sounds with performances by both huge stars at large venues - such as the BTM, Palau de la Música and l'Auditori - and less well-known talents at smaller, but equally prestigious settings, including Jamboree, Cova del Drac, Tarantos and the Jazzroom.
This year's edition is dedicated to the singular talent of the unforgettable Cuban artist Ibrahim Ferrer. The festival opens with a truly extraordinary treat - a concert by the iconic Nina Hagen and the Capital Dance Orchestra. The festival continues until September with countless performances, including concerts by such remarkable talents as McCoy Tyner, Omara Portoundo, Roy Hargrove and Alba and Manuel Molina.

Einstein

Einstein 1905
A hundred years of Physics

Hundred years ago Einstein developed the theorie of realtivity, which explained the univers' construction in a totally new way. Still it is the law for physics.
The theory includes five subtheories, which are descriped and explained well by technical presentations. The visitor is able to take part by pushing some buttons, changing the frequency or some similar, but it is realy nice.
This exhibition will put you in his place to make you think like he did. Experiment and see the things that made his mind produce those theories.

Torre Agbar

Torre Agbar
Art

The Torre Agbar is converted to one of the symbols of BCN, not only for its great architecture, but also because of the fact that you can see it from nearly every higher place in the city. They have created a nice page for informing visitors of the origin, the form, the file, the plans, reality vs. theory, etc. All this is well imaged and animated. Check it out.
