The Cadiz Spanish school is housed in a typical Andalusian house of 1856 in the old part of the Cadiz, close to the wonderful Plaza de Mina and the Alameda Promenade. The Spanish school was founded with enthusiasm for teaching Spanish to people from different countries, and a desire to share the Spanish culture, customs, and traditions through efficient teaching methods and a well designed activity program to create a friendly and familiar atmosphere.

The Cadiz Spanish school also offers flamenco courses at all levels, both in groups or private lessons, which include all the typical elements of flamenco such as compases, pasos de baile, abanico, mantón, castañuelas, and sombrero cordobés.

Cadiz, with its 3000 years of history, is the oldest city in the West of Spain. Situated on the Bay of Cadiz, it is connected to the rest of the Peninsula by a narrow isthmus and surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on all sides. Cadiz is one of the eight provinces that form the Region of Andalusia. The province of Cadiz has 260 km of coastline, offering countless beaches with fine, white sand, and a mild climate with an average temperature of 17.6ºC.

The city of Cadiz has a very long history. It was founded by the Phoenicians in the year 1.100 B.C., and has been occupied by Carthaginians, Romans, Visigoths and Muslims. It was also an important port in the discovery of America. Today, Cadiz is a city with University flair and its people are welcoming and friendly.


The old city, a historic monument, is partially surrounded by walls. Its most important monuments are the Cathedral, the Church of Santa Cruz, the Castles of Santa Catalina and San Sebastian, the Puertas de Tierra (the old gate of the city), and the old city which is partially surrounded by walls.

The city also has many beaches including La Caleta in the old part, and La Victoria, Santa María del Mar and Cortadura in the new part of the city. Cadiz also has important sport facilities and cultural festivals.
