Salamanca Spanish School
The Salamanca Spanish school is located in the centre of the city, only five minutes from Plaza Mayor.
The building itself is a former convent and has a deep history: in the first half of the 19th century, it was home to the College of Medicine,
and it only became a school in 1916 when it was taken over by a religious sisterhood, Las Siervas de San Jose . The main entrance impressively
opens onto a beautiful cloister, the so-called "well yard."
Salamanca Spanish school facilities: 30 classrooms (up to 60 during summer), a staff room, a
lecture room, a computer room, a lounge area, a beautiful central patio and spacious sport areas. The Spanish school facilities are in a 5,420 m2 building.
Salamanca City
Also known as the "Golden city", Salamanca has been the center for Spain's most significant historical events related with
culture and art. Its talkative and kind people speak Castilian, the purest Spanish, which makes this city a very popular place to learn the language.

The field of Art has left its most worthy and exquisite mark on Salamanca, such as the Spanish "plateresque" style, that has decorative quality
and fine execution. Recognizable by an extreme attention to sculptural ornamentation and details, the sandstone Old and New Cathedrals, "La Casa
de las Conchas" and a host of Romanesque churches are unmatched by any other Spanish or European city. Its Plaza Mayor is one of the prettiest Baroque squares
in Spain.
Although it is a medium size city, it offers all the qualities of being a big town with its friendly atmosphere, kind people, hospitality and a
surprising and exciting nightlife. A 2002 Spanish magazine survey has cited Salamanca as the second most attractive and safe city in Spain.
