• Organization Description: NGO that works with patients, relatives and professionals to support and guide the affected by a neuromuscular disease such as muscular dystrophy, spinal atrophy, etc. The organization coordinates self help and support groups, and provides physiotherapy services at home.
• Volunteering Objective: TThe aim of this volunteering placement is that you contribute to improve the life quality of people affected by a neuromuscular disease, providing them with more autonomy and integration into society.
• Volunteering Description: You will help people affected by a neuromuscular disease promoting their well being, working to minimize the effects of the muscular deterioration, helping them carry out daily activities, helping compensate the dysfuncions caused by the illness, and escorting them in their daily activities such as shopping, doing exercice, etc.
• General Requirements: For this placement you need enthusiasm and energy, skills to communicate and interact with people, to be ready to help and become involved without interfeering, and to be able to face new situations with a positive attitude.

• Organization Description: Organization with the main aim of improving the life quality of children affected by cancer and also providing support to the patients' families. They look for solutions to the different disorders caused by and associated with childhood cancer. The organization focuses its activities in two main areas: psychological and emotional assistance for the child and family, and social work to gain economic resources for the children's families.
• Volunteering Objective: The aim of this volunteer placement is that you help to make the children's period at hospital easier to go through, that you provide emotional support to the patients, and that you spend time with the children providing them with a distraction from their medical routine.
• Volunteering Description: Your activities will be to support the patients and families, to organize games and activities to provide the children with distractions that make the hospital stay more enjoyable, and to encourage them to spend time at the games room.
• General Requirements: You need to be able to face critical and highly emotional situations with the patients, to be able to play and to create a cheerful environment, to be willing to help those who need it. To have studies or experience in the Health field would be an advantage for this position though it is not a requirement.
• Language Requirements: Intermediate level of Spanish
