Salamanca provides a wide range of choices for interesting free time activities all year around. This is one of those towns where you can walk easily; therefore, students may join the famous walking tours through which they will visit the historical sites, such as the monasteries, the Convento y Museo de las Dueñas and the University of Salamanca, one of the oldest in the world. They also can assist to weekly concerts, lectures or theater which take place in one of the prettiest baroque square in Spain, namely the Plaza Mayor. Students that choose to come in September can assist to the Ferias and Fiestas de San Mateo. For two weeks, there is a fully organized program of concerts, parades, exhibitions, bullfightings and markets.
