Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona & COINED Spain: Spanish & Internships Program

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (School of Modern Languages) & COINED Spain offer you the possibility of combining high standard university Spanish studies with an international internship in Barcelona.

Program Details

In order to succeed in a professional internship experience, you need to be able to communicate fluently and professionally with your tutors and colleagues. UAB & COINED have designed this program for you to achieve high proficiency in Spanish as well as a substantial international work experience for the development of your professional career.

Through the UAB-COINED program you will get:

  • Superior Spanish teaching in preparation for your internship

  • An official Spanish level certificate based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Language Learning and Teaching of the Council of Europe (minimum: 4 weeks of course)
  • Online Spanish level test to help you better organize your program (SIM Test)
  • The possibility of studying at a historic UNESCO World Heritage Building with modern classrooms and technology
  • Superior teaching staff from the University & professional counselling during your internship
  • An internship placement according to your requirements and suitable to your skills
  • The possibility of getting university credits or grants

Requirements

  • You need to carefully fill in the forms and documents of the Application Package.
  • You need to achieve a C1 level of Spanish according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Language Learning and Teaching (Proficient User). If you do not currently have the language level required, consult your agent about spanish course´s options or just click here
  • Your studies and/or work experience should correlate to the field of work you request for your internship.
  • You should apply for one of the placements listed in the Standard Internships List.
  • You need to commit to a minimum of two and a maximum of six months to your assigned placement.
  • You need to have finished high school and to be 18 or older.
  • You are expected to respect the host institution's norms, as well as the Terms and Conditions of COINED & Terms and Conditions of UAB.
  • You need to be ready and willing to interact in a multicultural environment.

Registration Process

To participate in the UAB – COINED program, you need to fill in the online form and transfer a € 150 deposit to the account specified below, and we will send you:

  • Your username and password for the online language level test (SIM Test). Once we have your level, you will be able to decide the number of weeks of Spanish classes you need to take at the university.
  • Your Application Package with samples and instructions of the documents you need to hand in for your internship search.

Before your arrival to Barcelona, we will keep you updated regarding the evolution of your placement process; we will give you useful information about life in Barcelona, and help you organize the details of your trip.
